Kurt Busch and reckless driving

Everyone who follows Nascar knows by now that Kurt Busch was cited for reckless driving in Phoenix last week. Initially it was said that he was drunk, later accounts stated that he had only one drink and was under the legal limit when tested at the command post. He was tested at the command post because he refused to do a field sobriety test. It was also reported that when he was stopped by the officers he was rude and uncooperative. The worst sin of all? He supposedly said “Do you know who I am?.

Part of Nascar’s huge popularity is the wholesomeness and and downhome image of it’s drivers. When you tell Nascar fans (like myself) that a driver has a “Do you know who I am attitude I think that is really going to change the opinions of a lot of his fans. I am willing to bet that unless a whole lot of damage control is done very quickly Kurt Busch will soon become one of the most hated drivers in Nascar.
