Rusty Wallace says goodbye
Rusty Wallace has officially retired as a Nascar driver. That doesn’t mean that he’s going to disappear, sounds like he has a lot of plans for the future. After the race he was very emotional and shed a few tears. He said “It was a fabulous day. My last race was pretty normal – full of emotion, full of me wondering what I was going to feel like after it was over and wondering what was going to happen. You’re talking 21 years of this stuff, close to 40 years of racing. I knew it was time to stop. There’s a lot of competition out there and I went out on top. I was proud to do it this way.â€?
Rusty Wallace ends his driving career after 706 races with 55 wins, 202 top 5’s and 349 top 10’s. He also finished 8th in the Nextel Cup standings this year which makes it the 17th time he’s finished top 10 in the standings.
