Carl Edwards sweeps at Atlanta! After doing his famous backflip out of the car he grabbed the checkered flag and said “I have the greatest crew�. This is his third win in the Nextel Cup this season and his third backflip. Jeff Gordon came in second. Tony Stewart is now 43 points ahead of Jimmie Johnson in the Chase Race. Mark Martin came in third. Rusty Wallace crashed in lap 7, he is out of the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup.

Roush Racing announced yesterday that Mark Martin has agreed to remain in the No. 6 for another year. Todd Kluever will take over the No. 6 car in the 2007 season. Todd Kluever is currently driving for Roush in the Nascar truck series.

Sterling Marlin has signed a multiyear contract with MB2 Motorsports beginning in 2006. Sterling will be driving the No. 14 car in honor of his father Clifton “Coo Coo� Marlin who passed away in August.
Scott Wimmer will not be driving the No.22 car for Bill Davis Racing in 2006. A new driver has not been announced.
Also, a side note…Carl Edwards and Mark Martin recently appeared on an episode of Guiding Light.

Bobby Labonte has a contract until 2008 with Joe Gibbs racing, but rumor has it that he has been talking to Petty Enterprises about taking the No 43 car.
I would LOVE to see Bobby Labonte driving the 43 car! My favorite driver in the Petty blue, racing couldn’t get much better for me! If I hear or see anything more about this you will read it here first!
